Ontario will help Wasaga Beach attract vacationers to its beachfront this summer.
In the wake of a fire at the Main Street Pedestrian Mall in late 2007, the Town of Wasaga Beach has embarked on an ambitious plan to support its tourist industry. Ontario’s contribution of $100,000 will help the town market new attractions, establish a tourism website, and spread the message that Wasaga Beach is open for business.
New attractions in Wasaga Beach this year include:
“Our government is pleased to work with communities like the Town of Wasaga Beach on initiatives that help to increase tourism,” said Tourism Minister Peter Fonseca. “It’s part of our overall commitment to strengthen economic and tourism activity in Ontario.”
“We are happy to have the Ontario government as our partner,” said Wasaga Beach Mayor Cal Patterson. “This helps step up our campaign to show the new side of Wasaga Beach to our millions of visitors.”
